Your Linktree Isn’t Helping Your SEO, Babes

Your Linktree Isn’t Helping Your SEO, Babes

We love convenient user experiences as much as the next marketing team, trust and believe! But, what if we told you that your Linktree is only solving one of your needs, and we can help you accomplish multiple goals at once with something else? SEO is a broad subject that can be tackled in a variety of ways but if there’s one thing we know for sure, supporting it as often as possible as a secondary function with other tools helps a lot. While there are many ways to estimate human behavior in search intent, you never know exactly how someone’s search could lead them to your content. So why leave any chances on the table, ya know?

What’s the Scoop on Linktree?

Linktree is a popular service that many businesses leverage on their social media platforms to bypass the single link option given in the bio area and help viewers get easier access to external links. While helpful and convenient as a solution to not having all your important links in one place, it still acts as a barrier to your site by creating an additional step navigating from the social platform to linktree, and then to your website.

Why Should I Reconsider Using Linktree?

If you implement Linktree to capture customers, you’re first directing traffic away from your website in hopes of sending them back, assuming that they click on something in your Linktree that sends them to your site. These clicks are improving visibility and authority for Linktree which truly belongs to your site.

What are My Other Options?

Meet our quick links page! Similar in function to Linktree, its landing page style format houses all of your most important high-priority links in one place with easy to identify call to action buttons that will take them directly to where they need to go. The difference is extremely minimal for your users, but the benefits to you are major. When navigating to the quick links page, you’ve already succeeded in getting them onto your website and eliminated an extra step in the process that you’d have while using Linktree. Even if the clicks don’t result in conversion every single time, the increased traffic boosts your visibility and increases the likelihood that a user will stay on your site and explore.

While Linktree does have limited SEO options, they’re generally not worth the unnecessary distribution of traffic away from your site, or adding an extra step in your acquisition/funnel process for getting clients onto your site. Although Linktree is not our favorite external provider to recommend, we do have several external platforms we love that optimize our business processes. The best news is that you get to benefit from our existing relationships with them! Did someone say discounts?
