If you’ve been hanging out with us for even a short time, you’ve probably seen that we really walk the walk when it comes to all the marketing tips we share with our audience. We follow our own recommendations too because, to put it bluntly, this is our area of expertise and our strategies work! Today we’ll be covering some of the top places and ways that we market to make sure we’re reaching our target audience in a variety of ways that keep us, and our services at the top of their mind. 


Email List


We talk about email lists a LOT because they are truly that valuable. Email is still one of the most reliable and effective forms of marketing today. Email lists are a collection of subscribers who have opted in and asked to hear from you. You have a direct line of communication with them in their inbox and you own the data. You can take it with you if you move platforms. You can even save those emails to an external hard drive in the event of a major technical issue. As long as the emails are still valid and used by your clients, you’ll always have a way to market to them!


Blogs


Blogs are a powerful tool for SEO and can help your website rank better when done consistently over time. They’re also a great resource for repurposed content as long-form content can be broken down into dozens of different types of short-form content to be used in emails and on social media. Blogs also serve as a great way to educate and connect with your community. If you’re reading this, here’s your proof that they have a place in your marketing plan. 


Spotify


This one might be unexpected but that’s why we’re excited to include it! Incorporating music playlists into your marketing is a fun way to stay top of mind and even potentially reach new customers through discoverability. This is an example of an outside-the-box marketing effort that creates a lasting impression on folks and helps you stay memorable and relatable. Marketers like good music too! Social Media 


No one is surprised that this is on our list, but you might be surprised that it’s not our first priority. While we generate lots of leads and nurture plenty of relationships via social media, our marketing efforts are set up to bring us leads from other sources too! It’s easy for us to have fun with social because we know it’s ever-changing and evolving and the best chance of success on social is consistency and understanding the content needs of each platform. Here are a few examples of how to approach some of the big social media platforms that we use:


  • LinkedIn - thought leadership, networking, establishing yourself as an expert

  • Instagram - educate, entertain, establish new leads, nurture relationships in stories, comments, and DM’s

  • Threads - humor, conversation starters, networking and connecting with clients and potential collaborators

  • YouTube - great for SEO, houses long-form content, and can repurpose short-term content there also



Snail Mail


We love a good mailer at Mango Marketing Co. Sending mail to potential and current clients can be a fun way to grab their attention and do something a little outside the box from the typical digital noise we’re all used to. We love sending packages to our new Mango Members and have connected with several clients through snail mail. Don’t count it out!


Ads


Paid ads can really enhance the results of your marketing efforts when done strategically as a part of a campaign. We don’t recommend boosting random social media posts or going in without a plan. However, when done correctly targeted ads can connect you quickly and easily to your ideal clients. 


Swag & Merch


Great swag and enticing merch are a great way to make your marketing efforts unforgettable. If you’ve browsed our site, you’ve seen our merch, and if not check it out here! When it comes to swag, try to choose items that will be very useful to the people receiving it and correlate to who you are as a brand. The purpose of swag is not to just slap your name on something that will end up in someone's forgotten junk drawer. (Looking at you, stress balls.) Instead, having swag that is useful out in the wild increases your chances that others will see your brand in a creative way that stands out. 


Events


Last but never least, you know we love an event at Mango Marketing Co. Our Mixers and Meetups have become increasingly popular and well attended over the years and we really pride ourselves in creating brave spaces that foster connection and community that is valuable for everyone who participates. Events are a great way to show off your brand culture and values while bringing like-minded people together for collaboration.
